Who says that Salt and Pepper pots have to be boring - after being given some novelty ones as a gift for my Birthday it prompted this post. The hight street has condiment holders that come in a variety of different forms and guises - some more decadent than other but all with their own flair and individuality - ditch the clear crunchers and opt for a pair that brings an empty table top to life.... all you need to do is just add food!

Urban Outfitters - known of course as the one stop shop for that quirky last minute birthday gift for a friend, has totally ramped up its online offering. It now has a cracking home & furniture range to rival the high street leaders - the collection is bright quirky and adds that tongue in cheek wit we have learned to love from our friends at UO. I am totally in love with these neon lights - with every letter of the alphabet on offer and for just £60 each - I had to show serious restraint! I plumped for ordering just the 3...

Okay, I have a confession to make... I love artichokes...alot. Not only am I totally addicted to the taste of them, they would undoubtedly also be my dessert island food choice and are my most favourite vegetable ever. But, I am also a massive fan of how they look. So as a homage to my thistle friend I have created a montage of artistic chokes...I fully intend to have a corner of my kitchen as a shrine to the humble arty!

Cushion your Fall!

Every now and then I think it's important to give your living & lounging space a bit of a kick up the bum. In my view there is no better way of injecting a bit of life than with some new cushion covers.
Wether its moving from summer brights into more autumnal tones, why not invest in these lovely material squares for a instant update to your home... men hate them we know that - but move over boys this is a girl thing.

As you can imagine getting my choice down to 7 was tricky but here they are. H&M have some fantastic designs starting from a very affordable £3.99 and John Lewis is breaking boundaries by sourcing some inspiring designs into their collection.

We all go through them at a rate of knots - and use them for everything under the sun... they are on hand for quick oven assistance or for that accidental spillage and very often end up scrunched up at the bottom of a washing pile caked in food.

Yes it's the humble Tea-towel.

But there seems to be a revolution happening with these little cotton squares. Gone are the plain striped designs that often ended up unattractively tea stained and instead the market is bulging with a whole host of nostalgic and witty designs that you will want to position in pride of place for all to see.

It's like a piece of art but not hanging from your walls. And why not, every household needs one (or four). Bring some fun & cheer into your kitchen for as little as £2.99 it's a small expense with great results.

Check out these pretty plates that I found at H&M, who knew they did interiors.

What a cracking find - they look great served next to your existing crockery or are the modern day equivalent if you want something a little more upbeat to adorn your toast in the morning or hang on the wall like your nan used too.

Prices start from £1.99 - yep i know. Don't miss out...
