D.F.N loves....

As the nights get darker and the temperature drops – we naturally go in search of warmth in all areas of our lives. Food has to be hot and comforting, clothes also follow suit with chunky knits and as many layers as you can possibly wear. We also seek solace next to a fire with a hot chocolate or red wine.

Now..... thanks to Jo Malone there is a cologne that does all of the above. Plus it's so sensuous you will walk taller knowing that you smell fantastic.

I am talking of course about the luxury berry scents of Pomegranate Noir, a sensual warming mix of pomegranate, raspberry and plum with really lovely spicy tones. A bit like mulled wine – but so much better and in a bottle of cologne.

I found this perfume last year, it's probably been around for a while – and it's not a summer scent – but for winter it hits the nail on the head.

Envelope yourself in this little bit of luxury for an instant pick me up. It is sure to make you feel better on the gloomiest of days.

Get a taste for just £39 for a small bottle – at this price it's actually affordable and because the fragrance is so pure it last well.

That's if you don't get too addicted like I did. Hit Jo Malone to get yours or make sure it's on your Christmas list or a gift for a loved one. Plus their in store service and packaging is to die for.
It's a winter must have.

Be bold & beautiful...it's your duty to be beautiful!

With every company in the beauty industry claiming to have the next wonder cure for wrinkles, fine lines, split ends & cracked lips, its a wonder any of us have any idea which way to turn!

I have to confess that after many years of testing products from £1 up to £150 I am glad to have finally found my handbag go to's.

It's taken a while for me to whittle it down, but these 8 gems really are the products that I reach for time and time again. The best thing about them is that none of them are really really expensive - they all smell great (where they can) and really work.

From top left: Wella Luxeoil - amazing on wet or dry hair to add essential moisture to ends. Plus it smells great and contains a boost of keratin to repair those split ends, trust me you will be playing with your hair all day when you start using it. £18.79 from Salonskincare.co.uk

If you don't have Tweezerman tweezers you are missing a trick - these precision little pickers take the pain out of plucking and I would know I have gone through a few pairs in my time, plus they come in an array of great colours.

Have lustrous long tresses and struggle with knots and the pain of brushing after washing your hair - well let me introduce you to your new best friend. The tangle teaser really does what it says on the tin - and is handy enough to fit in the smallest of bags. Feelunique have a great range from £7.65.

Facial routines can often be a pain - but this 100% organic rosewater toning spritz from Botanics by Boots is your saviour - removing grit and grime as well as makeup with a couple of pumps and some cotton  pads. Bravo. Plus it has the Kew gardens botanics stamp of approval. You can't say fairer than that for £3.33.

For lips my go too product for an everyday balm is Cherry Kiss from Rose Apothecary £5.00, it has a non sticky texture that lightly tints lips with rouge and smells edible. For the days when i have sore cracked lips there is no other remedy than Elizabeth Arden 8 hour lip balm £20. In fact any of their 8 hour products will shift dry cracked lips in a day.

For hands I always carry this little tube of L'Occitane Cherry blossom hand balm from £8- the luxurious cream instantly absorbs with no greasy residue and it smells lovely.

And finally, this was a recent find. Clinique BB cream has revolutionised my daily makeup routine, the fine tinted cream matches perfectly to my skin tone  and is light enough to leave my skin breathing but also evens out my skin tone like no other foundation I have ever tried. At £26 I would not pick any alternative. Plus it lasts for months. With SPFS included for extra protection you must try it.

Enjoy!
